Why You’ll Enjoy This Recipe

Chicken drumstick fillets are seriously underappreciated, but they hold up just as well as boneless chicken thighs. Naturally they’re juicy, soft, and full of flavour, which makes them perfect for fast meals. I found this cut at Aldi and, honestly, I haven’t stopped grabbing it since.

They’re adaptable and straightforward to handle. Ideal for stir-fries, wraps, salads, curries, slow-cooker dishes, or simply served alongside your favourite sides. Olive oil:  You can swap it with any other type of flavourless cooking oil.

Paprika: Replace it with smoked or hot paprika.

Garlic granules

Onion granules

Ground dried oregano

Ground dried thyme

Cayenne pepper: This is optional, though it’s worth adding a touch of heat

Salt and black pepper

How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Drumstick Fillets

Set the air fryer to 400°F/200°C.

In a small bowl, mix the paprika, oregano, thyme, onion granules, garlic granules, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Add the chicken drumstick fillets to a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with the seasoning. Toss everything until the chicken is evenly covered.

Put the seasoned chicken into the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry for 16–18 minutes, or until the internal temperature hits 165°F/73°C. Move the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 3–5 minutes so the juices can settle back into the meat.

Enjoy as you like and serve.

PS: You may trim away any bits of sinew or cartilage if you want, but it isn’t necessary. Especially if you already like eating regular chicken drumsticks.

What to Serve With Chicken Drum Fillets

Serve these the same way you’d serve boneless chicken thighs. They go wonderfully with rice, potatoes, salads, roasted vegetables, wraps, or pasta. They’re also great when sliced and mixed into rice bowls or salads.
